Donovan Lee Smith, 18, of Bradford and Shinglehouse, passed away, Monday, October 3, 2022, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born on October 29, 2003, in Tacoma, WA, he was a son of Christie (Armstrong) Newton and the late Everett L. Smith.
He was a 2022 graduate of Bradford Area High School. In high school he was involved in the Oil and Gas Production program and the Gamers Club.
Donovan worked as a rig hand for McCracken Energy.
He enjoyed fishing, hanging out with friends, shooting guns, and having bonfires. He was an avid 2nd Amendment supporter.
Surviving is his mother Christie and Tom, one sister, Chyenne Smith, of Shinglehouse, grandmother, Sheryl (Galbreath) Silvis, of Bradford, grandfather, Cecil Smith, of Republic, MO, two aunts, Nicole Armstrong, of West Chester and Jennifer Armstrong, of Pittsburgh, four uncles, Adam Armstrong, of VA, Kyle (Taylor) Grandinetti, of Bradford, Charles (Mandy) Smith, of MO, and Ryan (Jessica) Broyles, of MO, seven cousins, Owen Grandenetti, Kevin Smith, Aryana Grandinetti, Ryan Broyles Jr., Landon Broyles, Ashtyn Broyles, and Dutton Broyles, his cat and little buddy, Taz, and many great aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandfather Merle Silvis, and grandmother Debbie Smith.
Friends will be received on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Avenue. A Celebration of Donovan’s Life will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Hilltop Baptist Church in Gifford, with Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating.
