All Condolences -

To the family of Dino Vecellio: My deepest sympathy to all of you on the loss of your father/g''father/great-g''father. When we were little girls, our parents would drive to Lewis Run to visit friends and relatives there. In those days families did that on a Sunday afternoon. My sister and I loved it. The Italian households were always bustling with activity, there was lots of good food to eat, and treats of candy and pop (that''s what we called it then). All the kids around came, and we played together while the parents visited. Dino and Siro and their parents were cousins, but the whole town was like one big family. There were 4 or 5 Marys or Marias living there, and they each had nicknames to tell them apart: Mary Paul, Maria Dante, Maria de Corner..... I still remember fondly the loud chatter as everyone talked at once, in half Italian and half American. Fun times. As everyone grew older and some died, the visits became fewer and eventually ceased. The last time I saw Dino was when his dad passed away. Siro was already gone by then. When I was married, their mother, Maria Dante, came to our house to help my mother make those delicious flaky crustoi (I may have that spelled wrong.) They made bushels of them! People at the reception not familiar with them thought they were potato chips. When they tasted them, they couldn''t get enough of them. You come from a wonderful family. Be proud of it and be proud of your heritage. Your dad was a good, gentle man. Be assured that he and all of you will be remembered in my prayers. My very best, your cousin.

Denise, Michele and family. We are so sorry for your lose. Dino was a good friend to Jim for many years. He was a kind soul and saw the good in everyone. Dino was very knowledgeable about the Bible. We always enjoyed his insight during scripture study. God bless you all during this difficult time. May perpetual light shine upon him.
