Carol Ann Hanson, 60, of Renfrew, passed away on Jan. 14, 2023, after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer.

Carol Ann went to Negaunee High School in Michigan and attended Northern Michigan University.

She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, bright red hair and her contagious laugh.

Carol Ann had a great love for animals, her small farm, and a knack for decorating. She especially enjoyed her mini horses, sweet dogs, and pot belly pig, Bacon!

She loved spending as much time outside as possible soaking up the sunshine and spending time at the beach whenever able. Carol Ann worked at St. Clair Hospital as an emergency room tech for nearly 18 years. She also cut hair for friends and clients throughout the years.

Carol Ann is survived by her partner, Justin Briones of Renfrew; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Gloria Hanson of Bradford, and many dear friends.

Carol Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Hanson, who passed away from cancer in January of 2021.

Committal services for Carol Ann Hanson and Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of her family and her loved ones at a later date with a graveside service to be held at Willow Dale Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, the SPCA or to a charity of choice.
