James M. Moyer Sr.

James M. Moyer, Sr., 91, 7161 Jackson Run Road, Warren, formerly a longtime resident of Bradford, passed away, surrounded by his family, on Monday, July 3, 2023, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center.

Born September 30, 1931, in Schuylkill Haven, he was a son of the late Miles and Elsie (Freeman) Moyer. 

Jim was a 1949 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School. On March 1, 1951, he enlisted in the United States Army, he served in Germany during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a Sgt. on February 12, 1954.

On May 3, 1958, in St. Ambrose Church in Schuylkill Haven, he married Agnes M. (Shaw) Moyer who preceded him in death on September 2, 2017.

Jim and Agnes relocated to the Bradford area in 1966. He worked 39 years as a Field Technician for National Cash Register. In retirement he and his wife assisted their son Mike and his family at the Tasta Pizza in Falconer NY.

He had attended St. Francis of Assisi St. Francis of Assisi Church, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and most of all, he enjoyed being with his family. 

Surviving are three sons, James M. (Christina) Moyer, Jr., of Bradford, Thomas (Julie) Moyer, of Warren, and Michael (Melissa) Moyer, of Bemus Point, NY, seven grandchildren, Katherine (Jeff) Cattoni, Kelley Moyer, Casey Moyer, Shannon Moyer, Michael Moyer, Jr., Ashely (Chris) Lindsey, and Bryce Moyer, and two great grandchild, Kane, and Sawyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Agnes of 59 years.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St., at 7: 00 pm funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. John Jacquel, Pastor of St. Bernard Church officiating. Entombment will be in St. Bernard Mausoleum.
