Shane E. Sampson, 60, of 1390 Olean Portville Road, Olean, NY, formerly of Bradford, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at Bradford Manor.
Born May 8, 1963, in Bradford, he was a son of the late William C. and Patricia (Edsall) Sampson. He was a 1981 graduate of Bradford High School
On September 17, 1981 he enlisted into the United States Navy, he served in the Persian Gulf. He was awarded the Navy Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Medal, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and was honorably discharged on June 30, 1985. He continued his service in the National Guard until June 8, 2003.
Shane worked at Part-R-Us and later owned and operated A to Z Parts and repair in Limestone.
Surviving are two sisters, Kim (the late Dave) Glenn, of Bradford,and Jennifer Lindsay of Alabama, two brothers, William (Melanie) Sampson, of South Carolina, Eugene (Tracy) Sampson, of Olean, NY, one sister-in-law, Lily Sampson, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Thomas Sampson.
Family will receive friends on Saturday August 12, 2023, from 11:00 am to Noon at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St. At Noon funeral services will be held with Rev. Randy Green, officiating, followed by Full Military Honors accorded by the United States Navy and members of the Honor Guard of the Bradford American Legion Post 108 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions if desired may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
