Louise M. Goodman

Louise M. Goodman, 69, of 442 Kansas Branch Road, Duke Center, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, at her residence with her husband by her side after a long struggle with Alzheimer disease. 

 

Born June 16, 1954, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Marvin J. and Donna M. (Berlin) Uhl. 

 

Louise was a 1972 graduate of Bradford High School. 

 

On December 11, 1976, in the Sawyer United Methodist Church, she married Ronald A. Goodman who survives.  

 

Louise had been employed at Corning Glass Works for 20 years and prior to her retirement she worked at KOA Speer for over 20 years. 

 

Louise was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, following the Pirates and Steelers. She had a passion for baking and organized many baked goods sales to benefit local charities. She was generous to the many area families who received Christmas Gifts, through the ELF Fund in Bradford, and the Angel Tree in Duke Center. Louise enjoyed traveling throughout the country, especially Florida, but her favorite travel was to Maine and Vermont. While on her trips she enjoyed bike riding the trail systems in state parks, especially Presque Isle State Park. 

 

Surviving in addition to her husband Ron of 46 years, is one daughter, Alyssa (Gerald Button Jr.) Goodman, of Duke Center, one son, Dr. Jeffrey (Mark York) Goodman, of Eau Claire, WI, two grandchildren, Zachery Iseman, and Dominic Button, one sister, Cynthia (Tom Hart) Patrick, of Rew, three brothers, Stephen (Janet) Uhl, of Bradford, Robert Uhl, of Bradford, and Ronald (Gina Luzzi) Uhl, of Bradford, one sister-in-law, Kathy (Bob) Roberts, of Dundee NY, three aunts, Barb Smith, of Derrick City, Donna Lamberson, of Bradford, and Doris Hannah, of Bradford, one uncle William (Vicki) Uhl, of Rew, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

  

She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant sister Carol Lynn Uhl, and one sister-in-law, Sally Uhl. 

 

Family will receive friends on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from Noon to 2:00 PM in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main Street in Bradford, followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM with Rev. Rick Price, Pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery. 

 

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
