Michael Conner Burgett

Michael C. Burgett, 48, passed away at his home in Derrick City, on September 30, 2023, after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.  

He is survived by his parents Amy and Leo, his brother Charles, his sister Nancy, his niece Allison, and his brother-in-law Sunny. Additionally, Michael has aunts, uncles and cousins in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and several other states.

Michael’s life journey started in Minnesota and took him to New Jersey, Virginia, New York, Colorado, Florida, and finally to Pennsylvania where he moved to be closer to his family. 

Michael graduated from high school in Virginia and continued his education and graduated from Alfred State College in New York. Following graduation, Michael and two of his classmates enjoyed a two month “Rail-Pass tour” of Europe before they pursued employment in Colorado. Michael’s career started in Colorado, and continued in Florida, Virginia, New York, and Pennsylvania.

Everyone who met Michael knew the kindness, the generosity, and the selflessness that he embodied, and they became better persons for it.

Michael has left his body in the physical world, but his spirit and goodwill will continue to live on in his family, his friends, his coworkers, and his acquaintances.

Michael’s life will be celebrated by family and friends on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Hollenbeck and Cahill Funeral Home, 33 South Avenue in Bradford, PA from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. 

Another celebration of his life by family and friends will occur in Andover, NY on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Baker Swan Funeral Home from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Burial will be in Andover Hillside Cemetery will occur at a later time.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
