David C. Burton

David C. Burton, 73, of 97 Marion Ave. Bradford, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Olean General Hospital.

Born on April 18, 1950, in Kane, he was a son of the late Edward D. and Dorothy (Humes) Burton.

On December 18, 1981, he married Toni Marie (Bizzaro) Burton, who preceded him in death on December 8, 2020.

He was a 1968 graduate of Bradford High School. 

After high school he joined the United States Army on April 2, 1970, where he served in Vietnam until he was discharged on October 10, 1973. Throughout his time in the Army, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Expert Rifle Badge. 

After being discharged he worked at Kessell Construction, and at Georgia Pacific until his retirement. In his retirement years he also worked for API Delivery. In his spare time he loved to hunt and trap. 

Surviving are two sons, Joel Burton, of Bradford, Todd Burton, of Bradford, three daughters, Kathleen (Doug) Barhight, of Bradford, Michelle Vigliotti, of Pittsburgh, Holly (Joe) Troutman, of Lewis Run, two sisters, Jan Burton, of Bradford, Judy Minich, of Gates City, VA, and 10 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Michael Vigliotti, one brother, Richard Burton.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the VFW, 94 Barbour Street. At 1:30 PM a Celebration of Life will be held with Pastor Richard Young officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Mausoleum.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Very sad to see Dave''s passing. He grew up down the road from me and he spent a lot of time at our home playing cards and outdoor games with my brothers and other''s from his area. He was so cute and so sweet. My thoughts and prayers are you with. So sorry you lost both your parents so soon
