Lillian A. Panew, 99, formerly of New Jersey, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home, surrounded by her family.

Born August 4, 1924, in Mannington WV, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Grace (Keyes) Ice. She was a graduate of Mannington High School.

Lil had been employed for over 20 years as a custodian at the Skillman Training School in New Jersey. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and raising plants, and flowers.

Surviving is one daughter, Marsha Sawyer, of Bradford, two sons, William (Mildred) Yost Jr., of Bordentown, NJ and  Walter (Chris) Panew, of Charlotte NC, seven grandchildren, Charlene (Robert) McCartney, Diane (Louis) Constable, Jamie (TJ) Matthews, William (Mary) Yost III, Jennifer Yost, Vladimir Panew, and Nick Panew, 15 great-grandchildren, Ashley McCartney, Mellissa (Dylan Green) McCartney, Lena, Louis, and Anna Constable, Brady, Ava, Marley, and Cooper Matthews, Mila, Vlad, Dimitri, Lucia Panew, and Tory and Ryan Yost, one sister Dolores (Tom) Bebee, of Whitling, NJ, and several nieces and nephews.

Lil was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, William Yost in 1973, and Wasyl Panew in 2011, one daughter, Marlyn D. Kyser, who died January 6, 2009, one sister, Phoebe Hirtlen, and three brothers, Richard, Johnny, and Tommy Ice.

There will be no public services observed. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Activities Fund at the Bradford Ecumenical Home, or the American Heart Association.
