Helen J. McCanna

Helen J. McCanna, 88, of Coudersport, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at UPMC Cole.

Born December 20, 1935, in Pleasant Valley, she was a daughter of the late Howard C. and Lena M. (Ohler) Stuckey. She attended schools in Roulette, Genesee and she was a 1955 graduate of Port Allegany High School.

On March 11, 1967, she married Robert C. McCanna Sr., who preceded her in death on January 22, 2013. Together they raised two children in Corydon Township.

Helen had been employed at many businesses throughout her working career. She last worked at Zippo Manufacturing for 18 years, retiring in 1998.

Helen was an avid bingo player and she enjoyed listening to classic country music. She and her immediate family and extended family enjoyed going to reunions on both sides of her family, the Stuckey, Yarnell and Ohler sides. She also enjoyed traveling throughout many states that caught her interest. She loved playing with her beloved cat Jasper.

Helen had many good friends with the names Caroline, Delores, Pauline, Elly, and Billy to name a few. They all shared a few good laughs together and enjoyed spending time with each other. She will be loved and missed by her family and friends very much.

Surviving is one daughter, Carolyn K. McCanna, of Roulette, two other daughters, Mary (Ed) Wells, and Patricia (the late Michael) Nicolia,

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Robert C. McCanna Jr., three brothers, Robert Stuckey Sr., Max Stuckey, Sr., and Howard Stuckey Jr

Friends will be invited to attend a Celebration of Helen's Life at a later date in the spring. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
