Nora Quereshi

Nora Quereshi (nee Knapp), 85, of Chatfield, MN, formerly of Bradford, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, at Chosen Valley Care Center, in Chatfield, MN.

Born April 21, 1938, in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Corwin and Grace (Mortland) Knapp. She was a 1956 graduate of Bradford High School and attended the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where she met and married her former husband, Mohammed Y. Quereshi.

Nora and her husband raised their family of four children in Milwaukee, WI. She was a loving and devoted mother, and provided caring and support throughout her life. She nurtured her children's involvement in music, athletics, and many other pursuits. After the children were older, she completed an apprenticeship and worked as a journeyman micrographics technician for Valley Micro Forms and then at the Wisconsin Electric Company for many years.

In 1978, she returned to Bradford to take care of her mother during her lengthy last illness. Thereafter, she was active in the care of many elderly relatives and friends and also worked as a docent for the Crook Farm. She remained in Bradford until she moved to be closer to her daughter in Rochester, MN, in 1998. She lived for many years in Rochester but spent the last years of her life as a resident at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield.

Nora was a former member of the Asbury United Methodist Church of Bradford, and the Berean Community Church of Rochester, MN.

Nora was a sweet and gentle person who was deeply loved by her friends and family.  She was kind to everyone her life touched.  Love truly was her greatest gift.

Surviving are two daughters, Amna  Quereshi, of Rochester, MN, Shukria (Loraine Fischer) Quereshi, of Portland, OR, two sons, Ahmed J. (Patricia) Quereshi, of Milwaukee, WI, and Shawn A. (Jennifer) Quereshi, of Oshkosh, WI, and four grandchildren.

Family invites Nora's friends and neighbors to gather at Togis Restaurant on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, to share memories.

Services are private at the convenience of family. Burial will be on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 11:00 am, in Annin Creek Cemetery.

At the farm she was always known as Nora Jane. From a little girl I can remember her always making her homemade "Johny Cake" and monkey bread. Humming in the kitchen while my great grandmother (Elizabeth), her aunt, would sit and watch us from "her" chair at the kitchen table. That kitchen holds many stories. May she now be free from her medical things. She ALWAYS asked about the whole family back here at the farm. I may only remember her.from my childhood, but they were great memories.

Rest in Peace my sister in Christ
