I will always cherish my relationship with Bill. As others have said, he was the consummate gentleman. All those he has touched have been better for it, and he will be missed dearly. I will drink a toast to you of my finest scotch in memory of the times we spent together doing the same. Rest in peace dear friend.

Bill was a good friend and my neighbor when I lived in Bradford. He was a genuine, kind gentleman and would make me gumbo from time to time! We would enjoy some chocolate lager and some good scotch! I am honored to have known him and call him my friend! My thoughts and prayers go out to the family! I will never forget you William! Sincerely and respectfully, Brad Trate

You can''t teach class and Bill was the personification of class. We''ll miss him coming to dinner and his humor. Our club and members will miss him greatly. We loved him dearly. So many great stories about how he approached bad behavior, especially when addressing the dress code! RIP, Billy, we loved you.

Billy Douglas was a gentleman in all respects. BUT, more importantly he was HONORABLE FRIEND. I love Bill Douglas as did all who ever had the honor of crossing his path and shaking his hand on the "first tee". Billy, I love you and want to say.... THANK YOU FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP. We were the odd couple. No one understood how an eighty yr old gentleman and a forty year old "asshole" could have been so close but ole Billy made it work!
— Chris Allen
