John L. Taylor

John L. Taylor, 73, formerly of the Lafayette hilltop, passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. He was welcomed into the open arms of his beloved wife, Linda, and his feline best friend, HoBo, who were waiting for him up in Heaven.

Born March 27, 1950, in Kane, he was a son of Bob & Vicky Taylor. He grew up in a home surrounded by nature, with his three siblings and plenty of wildlife keeping him company.

He married the love of his life, Linda (Hetrick) Taylor in 1972 and spent his early adult life as a renowned electrician, working at the Box Factory, Pennzoil, PGE, and ARG.

We knew him as a kind, hardworking, and loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. We knew him as the unofficial “Mayor” of Lafayette, as a long-standing member of his “Breakfast Club,” and as the family videographer. He loved to travel and sight-see. He was the king of snacks and board games. He was Mr. Fix It, a storyteller like no other, the father of three ducklings, and the one person who you could count on being outdoors, working sunrise to sunset.

John’s memory will be lovingly held in the heart of all those who knew him best, carried forever among the countless friends and family who he left an unforgettable impact on.

John is survived by his daughter, Angela (Robb) Shipman, of Lewis Run, and his son, Mark (Audra) Taylor, of Mansfield, his four grandchildren, McKenna, Parker, and Bella Shipman, and Aiden Laska, his siblings, Joanie (Kevin) Kelley, Dan (Edna) Taylor, and Janet (Tom) Musolino, all of Lewis Run, and two aunts who loved him dearly, Lea Miller and Delores DelMonego, as well as countless in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Private services are being conducted by the family. A celebration of his incredible life is planned for the upcoming summer.

In honor of John’s love for creatures of all kinds, memorial contributions are welcome to be made to the SPCA, P.O. Box 113, Bradford PA 16701 or No Feline Left Behind, P.O. Box 783, Bradford PA 16701.

Welcome home, Papa. We will love and miss you forever.
