Fred W. Disney

Fred W. Disney, 85, of Lewis Run, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday March 21st, 2024, after a brief stay at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born on October 7, 1938, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Roy E. and Lenore (Ward) Disney. He was a 1956 graduate of Bradford Area High School.

On December 31, 1960, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Lewis Run, he married Marie (Frenz) Disney, who survives.

Fred was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Gifford. He thoroughly enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, riding his four-wheeler, spending time outside, watching wildlife and tending to his garden. Fred was a prayer warrior and was known for his gentleness, kindness, and his love for helping others.

He was employed at Wright Monumental Works in high school, and continued his working career at Kendall Refining Company, starting in the barrel house. He worked his way up to Lead Production Supervisor at the Kendall/Amalie Packaging Plant and later took on additional responsibilities for Production Planning and Inventory Management at both the Packaging Plant and Blending Plant. He also owned and operated Disney’s Garage, famous for the area's premier Auto Rust Proofing services, and Disney’s Dairy World.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Marie of 63 years, is one daughter, Sue (the late Eleazar) Perez, of Houston, TX, two sons, Steve (Karen) Disney, of Lewis Run, and Scott (Leanna) Disney, of Lewis Run, six grandchildren, Dan (Ashley) Disney, Shawn (Olivia) Disney, Sam (Andrea) Perez, Rachel Perez, Bryce (Brianna Siebert) Skaggs and Brenden Skaggs, five great grandchildren, Lincoln Disney, Lawson Disney, Charlotte Perez, Walker Perez, and Blakely Skaggs, one niece, Cindy Wright and boys, and one nephew, Michael (Crystal) Disney, and girls.

Preceding him in death are his parents, and one brother, Jerry Disney.

Family will receive friends on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at the Hilltop Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am with Rev. Max Simms, Pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Hilltop Baptist Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Marie, Sue, Steve, Scott and family, so sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. Countless memories, too many to put on a memorial page…of your family and Fred. I will forever remember his hugs and laugh. We had such a safe place to land during our youth because of how open your family was to kids being at their house and just hanging out for hours…. You will be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Dawn (Smith) & Jeff Lindner

Marie, Steve, Sue and Scott - Fred had such an impact on our lives. Mine first as a child and teen and then he included Tim just like he had been a part of our tribe from the start. Fred and Marie, you were part of the village that raised me. Your Christian influence at every turn was impactful. Whether we were camping, at youth group, in your pool, in your basement or sitting on your patio, you showed us love. We hope that we have shared God''s love with the friends of our children just as you did to your children''s friends. Rest in Peace Fred. Christ surely greeted you with open arms.
