Darrell L. Wilt

Darrell L. Wilt, 74, of 59 Limestone Street, Bradford, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Olean General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. 

Born June 20, 1949, in Clearfield, he was a son of the late James D. and Constance Faye (Langham) Wilt. He was a 1967 graduate of Bradford High School. 

On July 2, 1969, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Expert M-16 Medal. He was honorably discharged on June 24, 1971.

On June 21, 2003, in Aiken, he married Lynn A. (Zumstein) Wilt, who died September 26, 2016. 

After the service Darrell worked as a deliveryman and salesman for Bradford News and later at Haliburton until 1992. In 1992 he opened and operated Darrell’s Service Center until he retired in June of 2021. 

He was a member of the American Legion, and VFW. Darrell enjoyed restoring Antique Cars, camping, hunting with his sons, and taking cruises on the Ocean.

Surviving is his significant other, Pam Weart, four children, Michael (Tricia) Wilt, and Steve (Becky Nelson) Wilt, all of Bradford, Kristie (Scott) Murray, of Coudersport and Andrew (Jen) White, of Noblesville, IN, 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, Debora (Nate) Cook, of Lewis Run, two brothers, Fred (Nina) Wilt, of Bradford, and James (Auneak) Wilt, of Kylertown, and many nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, Richard Wilt who died in 2009, John Wilt, who died in 2012, and Edward G. Wilt who died in 2021, and one sister, Connie (Tom) Gilmore, who died in 2023.

Family will receive friends on Saturday April 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Evans Memorial United Methodist Church, at Noon funeral services will be held with Rev. Jay Tennies, Pastor officiating, followed by Full Military Honors and burial by members of the United States Army, and the Honor Guard from the American Legion Post 108 of Bradford in Willow Dale Cemetery.
