Donald Dean Steck

Donald Dean Steck, 85, formerly of Timbuck, a resident of Simpsonville SC, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

Born March 8, 1939, in Degolia, he was the 13th child of the late Leonard and Louise (O’Neil) Steck. He was a graduate of St. Bernard School.

On July 22, 1967, in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, he married Patricia Ann (Cardenas) Steck who preceded him in death on December 29, 2021.

A native and life-long resident of Bradford, Dean worked for over 30 years at the Kendall/Witco Oil Refinery. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Dean loved participating in and watching all sports, but especially rooting for the Buffalo Bills. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Cindy (Arthur) Mobley, and Tricia (fiance, Evan Kantor) Rodebaugh, three grandchildren, Trina (Adam) Storm, Robert (Kristyn) Rodebaugh, and Joshua Rodebaugh; four great-grandchildren, Parker Storm, Emma Storm, Lucas Rodebaugh, and Grace Rodebaugh; one sister, Shirley McManigle, as well as many extended family members.

In addition to his parents and his loving wife Patty of 56 years, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Marion Steinhauser, Alice Bizzaro, Ellen “Red” Keller, Mary Lou Hall, Donna Roeder, and Norma Steck; six brothers, Thomas Steck, Richard Steck, Bruce Steck, Wayne Steck, Rodney “Herk” Steck, and James Steck.

Family will receive friends on Saturday July 13, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in St. Francis Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Committal services and burial will follow in McKean Memorial Park.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
