Edward Sayers

Edward E. Sayers, 83, of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born on February 5, 1941, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Paul and Marian (Cobb) Sayers.

He attended Bradford Area High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on September 14, 1961, and served until his honorable discharge on January 14, 1966.  He received a Good Conduct Medal.

On November 23, 1963, in St. Bernard Church he married Delores "Dee" (Henderson) Sayers, who survives.

Ed was employed at Dresser Manufacturing then Trico Industries and as a machinist and he painted house’s part time in the community.

Ed was a member of St. Bernard Church, Bradford Legion Post 108, the Bradford Vets Club.

He enjoyed walking, vacationing, and travel.

Surviving in addition to his wife Dee of 61 years, are three sons Todd (Mary) Sayers, of Naperville, IL,  Shawn (Tina) Sayers, of Marion, IL, and  Scott Sayers, of Bradford, one brother, William (Linda) Sayers, of Bradford, four grandchildren, Aaron (Angela) Sayers, Brianne (Greg) Phillips, Jack Sayers, and Jae Sayers, three great-grandchildren, Kylie Sayers, Sadie Sayers, and Cohen Phillips, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Cindy Sayers, who died May 13, 2019.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 East Main Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm in St. Francis Church with Fr. Ed Walk, associate pastor, as Celebrant.
