James G. Fegan, 81, of Bradford, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, unexpectedly at his residence.
Born August 9, 1942, in Rochester, NY, he was the son of the late Harvey V and Bernice P. (Welch) Fegan.
Jim was a 1961 graduate of West High School.
On June 6, 1964, in St Augustine Church in Rochester NY he married the love of his life Patricia A Berry. Pat preceded him in death on December 29, 2012.
Jim had been employed at Kodak Colorado Division as a Facilities Supervisor retiring in 1992.
In his younger days Jim was very active jogging, hiking, archery, golfing and bike riding. After the arrival of his grandchildren his new favorite past times were anything involving the grandchildren. He loved to travel, his favorite team was the Broncos, but he watched the Bills every week. He loved to read and had his beer every day at 4:30 on the dot. After moving to Bradford, he and Pat became the neighborhood children’s surrogate grandparents and loved those kids as if they were their own grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Catherine (Pete) Askeland of Loveland CO and Colleen (Frank) Nunez of Southwick MA, and three grandchildren, Stephanie, Zachary and Emilee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and his brother John Fegan.
Friends will be invited to a celebration of life at a later date to be announced.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
