Nancy Y. Gleason

Nancy Y. Gleason, 91, of 36 Rockland Avenue, Bradford, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born March 3, 1933, in Olean, NY, she was a daughter of the late Donald R. and Ruth (Rogers) Young. She was a 1950 graduate from Mt. Jewett High School.

On December 26, 1953, in St. Francis Church, she married Francis E. "Nut" Gleason, Sr., who died April 9, 2015.

Nancy was employed at Dresser Manufacturing. She also owned and operated along with Rusty Hetrick, Four Seasons Sports Store.

She was a member of St. Bernard Church. She was an avid Bridge player at the Local, State, and National level earning a Life, Bronze, Silver, Ruby, and Gold Life Master along with being a Director.

Nancy enjoyed following her sons and grandchildren’s sporting events, especially the trips to West Virginia and N. Carolina. She wintered in Ruskin, FL with her parents and husband for many years. Nancy enjoyed bowling in the Koffee Kup League for many years serving as secretary in the 1968-69 and 1969-70 seasons.

Surviving are three sons, Don (Jill) Gleason, William (Kelly) Gleason, both of Bradford, and Francis (Ginny) Gleason Jr., of Crown Point, IN, seven grandchildren, Mike Gleason, Kate Gleason, Lindsay (Jon) Hannon, Christie (Baris) Sarac, Courtney Gleason, Francis Gleason III, and A.J. Gleason, five great grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fran, one son, Joseph Gleason, who died September 28, 2019, and two sisters, Peg Owens, and Barbara Bixby.

Family will receive friends on Friday February 7, 2025, from 10 am to 11 am in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 372 East Main Street, followed by funeral services at 11 am with Rev. Edward Walk, officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
