Robert A. Bly

Robert Allen “Bob” Bly, 59, of Derrick City, passed away peacefully at his home on December 3, 2025.

He was born November 11, 1966, in Bradford, a son of James Bly of Bradford, and the late Nancy Bly. He was a 1984 graduate of Smethport Area High School.

Bob was currently employed as a Foreman at Alleghany Industrial Insulation of Lewis Run. Prior to that, he worked as a Foreman for many years at DM Industries.

His passion was coaching the Fretz boys’ soccer team for five years and being involved in Bradford United Travel Soccer. He passed this passion down to his son Colton and has traveled with him to many soccer tournaments through the years.

Bob was first and foremost a hard worker running jobs and traveling extensively to provide for his family, which he truly cherished. He was a proud father to Colton and Cody. Colton is a US soccer coach, educator and founder of Twin Tiers Soccer club. Cody is an Engineering Supervisor at Keystone Powdered Metal of Lewis Run, and co-founder of Twin Tiers Development LLC.

Bob loved family gatherings and picnics, his golden retrievers, hunting and fishing with his son Cody, and enjoying a wood fire in the garage with his dad. He was also an avid Cleveland Browns fan along with both his sons. They shared that love for football every game day and traveled to see the Browns many times together.

Bob is survived by his wife Tina Marie (Newman) Bly of 34 years, two sons Colton Allen (Brooke) Bly of Olean, NY and Cody James (Destiny Fitton) Bly of Bradford, his father and stepmother, James (Donna) Bly of Bradford. Bob is married into a large family and is survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews, all who will cherish his memory always.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Bly, maternal grandparents Joseph and Frances Simsick, paternal grandparents Raymond and Betty Bly, and nephew Todd Burt.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 372 East Main Street, followed by funeral services at 3:00pm with Fr. Jim Gutting, officiating.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to No Feline Left Behind, P.O. Box 783, Bradford, PA 16701.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
