Jim was my older brother and he always protected me..I went with him on his band travels and he was always watching to make sure I was safe ..He was a very loving brother ??..Jim you will always have a special place in my heart..Never to be forgotten..He loved to sing in his bands..I remember all the school dances he played for..He played for my 16th birthday in our back yard..so much fun..My mom Dorothy Silvis and Jim sang together one time in Kiwanis Kapers...I''ll always remember that..He loved animals ..In fact his fur baby that he had to leave behind has a new wonderful loving home thanks to our baby brother Craig..Gibson was his dog and his family..I know now that Jim is in Heaven with my mom..dad..sister and brother...I think about them all every day..Rest in peace brother..Love you always.

Losing Jim, James Silvis, has really shaken me up since learning about his passing. Jim and I have been close friends starting out as early as 1962 as a couple of aspiring musicians. Jim used to stay at my house on weekends when we were kids. Jim was a great guitarist, but a little know fact about Jim is that he played the baritone saxophone in our first band, “The Rooks”, We played a song called “Wild, Wild Weekend” in a talent show at Fretz Jr. High School. Seems like yesterday. After that, we both played in different bands, but we were always the closest of friends. I’m gonna miss you buddy. Rock on in that Rock and Roll Heaven. Praying for his family and other friends like myself that are missing Jim.
